How to Clean Sunbrella Horizon
Sunbrella has provided four different methods on how to approach various different stains. A cleaning guide can be found on Sunbrella’s website to help you decide which approach to use with which stain.
Method 1
- Using a dry towel, soft cloth or napkin, wipe the spills as they happen
- A cleaning eraser sponge and/ or corn starch
Method 2
- Make a solution of soapy water and mild soap to clean the area
- Use a clean towel, or napkin, to blot excess moisture
- If stain is still visible, use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol
- Rinse with water until the soap is gone
- Set out the fabric to air dry
Method 3
- Clean using 303 Multi-Surface Cleaner
- Use a clean towel, or napkin, to blot excess moisture
- If stain is still visible, use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol
- Rinse with water until the soap is gone
- Set out the fabric to air dry
Method 4
Although Sunbrella fabrics prevent mold growth, mold may grow on dirt of other substances that aren’t removed from the fabric. How to remove mold or mildew:
- Create a solution using 1 cup of bleach and 1/4 cup of mild soap for every gallon of water
- Apply to fabric and allow it to soak for 15 minutes
- Use a soft bristle brush, towel, or sponge to remove the stain
- Rinse with water until the soap is gone
- Set out the fabric to air dry
- Depending on the severity of the mildew, the quality of bleach can be increased
To Disinfect
- Create a solution of 10:1 water to bleach
- Other disinfectants include hydrogen peroxide, Betadine, and iodine
