Bow Pads / Sunpads
Chicago Marine Canvas specializes in custom bow pads, also called sunpads, that expand your boat’s entertaining area!
Traditionally, bow pads are made with vinyl. These days, the majority of pads we manufacture are made out of upholstery fabrics. Some projects use Sunbrella fabrics, which offers a wide range of options. Another brand and style of fabric that works well for sunpads is the Serge Ferrari’s Batyline Elios line.
The sunpads are made with Dri-Fast foam, which does what it says: it dries really fast. After a hard morning rain, it will be dry by the afternoon. No soggy sunpads!
Dri-Fast foam is a firm open celled foam that is very porous. This allows water to run through it easily instead of absorbing it like other closed cell foams. The foam can rapidly dry, which prevents it from growing mold and mildew.

Built in headrests means max comfort. Sunpads are made with 3″ foam, while the headrests are elevated to 6″. We can also cut/taper the foam so your pad will be level on a convex bow.
Nothing is better than built in pockets, which is why Chicago Marine Canvas includes them in every sunpad. These pockets can hold phones, keys, and other small valuables. Stainless steel cupholders can also be added to the headrest. No more worrying about your phone or drinks sliding into the water while you’re relaxing.
Recliners
If you want to recline and not simply lay flat on your bow pad, check out the GCO Concepts recliner. With a lifetime warranty, you can rest assured that your recliner will last. The recliner is made from high density polyethylene (HDPE). It’s strong, with low moisture absorption and resistance to UV and corrosion. Marine-grade stainless steel hinges and screws attach the recliner to your boat, with Life Calk sealant to ensure no water gets past the fiberglass.
